Geo-Cloud 2.0 launched online on CHINA MINING 2018

On October 18, Geo-Cloud 2.0 was launched online by the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources at CHINA MINING Conference and Exhibition 2018.

Geo-Cloud 2.0 comprehensively upgraded cloud data and system functions.

It covered all 29 units of the Geological Survey, constructed 12 types of databases and geological information product systems of 8 categories including basic geology, area geology, agricultural geology, environmental geology, physical and chemical exploration, geology and mineral resources, marine geology. It also realized the cloud sharing of more than 160 national core geological databases, added 4905 authoritative information products of resources and environment (accumulated 7287 on the cloud), and achieved searching of nearly 140,000 files and more than 4,400,000 geological data in the National Geological Data Museum, browsing of public geological data and online purchasing on the cloud platform. Besides, it added 100,000 new borehole data, bringing the total to 900,000; new-added borehole core graphic Information covered more than 30.000 meters, totaling more than 290,000 meters. It collected 50 maps and drawings of results in geological survey of marine area and coastal environment as well as marine aero-geophysical survey, and provided retrieval services with 890,000,000 geoscientific documentary results of books, periodicals, newspapers, papers, conferences, patents, etc.

The launched information system of “Geo-Cloud – Evaluation on Resource Environmental Carrying Capacity and Land Space Development Suitability” could provide basic data and technical support for land space planning and control; “Geo-Cloud – Urban Geology” offered informational cloud solutions for urban planning, construction, operation and management. And the newly launched mobile version of “Geo-Cloud” enabled intelligent acquisition of surrounding geological information anytime and anywhere based on spatial location. On the cloud there were authoritative industry information and geoscientific Science-popularizing products such as geologic and mining magazines, mining yearbooks, technical standards, geological dictionaries, popular science books, brochures, audio and video, which provided not only efficient and authoritative methods for the public to understand the scientific knowledge of the earth, but convenient services for personnel.

“Geo-Cloud” was a service platform of national geological big data sharing produced by the China Geological Survey. In November 2017, “Geo-Cloud 1.0” was put into operation and realized the sharing of geological survey data.

Officials in China Geological Survey said that they would further focus on national economic and social development, and continuously improve social services through strengthening the timely collection of survey and monitoring data, digging deep into geological data, developing a geological analysis and evaluation system with the “Geo-Cloud” construction as the core. About CHINA MINING

Since first held in 1999, the scope and influence of CHINA MINING has grown rapidly year by year.  As a global mining summit forum and exhibition, CHINA MINING Congress and Expo has become one of the world’s top mining events, and one of the world’s largest mining exploration, development and trading platforms, covering all aspects of the whole mining industry chain, including geological survey, exploration and development, mining rights trading, mining investment and financing, smelting and processing, mining techniques and equipment, mining services, etc. playing an active promotion role in creating exchange opportunities and enhancing mutual cooperation between domestic and foreign mining enterprises.

CHINA MINING Conference and Exhibition 2018 Was held at Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center in Tianjin in October 18-20, 2018. We invite you to join the event and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of CHINA MINING with us. For more information about CHINA MINING 2018, please visit: m.balanzskin.com.
