The reports from these enterprises focused on key and challenging issues in social responsibility management, such as ensuring stable energy supply and reasonable pricing, achieving the decarbonization goals, advancing technological innovation, guaranteeing personnels' safety, promoting environmental protection, etc, according to the association.

These efforts reflect the coal industry's determination to achieve a green and high-quality transformation, the association said.

Tang Xiuyin, an official of the association, said: "Further efforts from the coal industry (including organizations and companies) are expected to continue to strengthen the safe and stable supply of coal, enhance efficient and clean utilization of coal, modernize the coal industry's industrial system, establish a diversified development pattern, and create digitally intelligent coal mines."

The remarks were made during the launch ceremony of the Blue Book on Social Responsibility of Coal Industry, organized by the association in Beijing.

The blue book analyzed companies' current management status and existing problems that were relevant with social responsibilities, and showed work of key coal enterprises' economic, environmental, social and governance responsibilities with case studies. It also offers insights for the future work of companies' social responsibility management.

"Among the surveyed coal enterprises, over 60 percent have specialized departments and leadership for social responsibility, and 40.38 percent have defined clear social responsibility concepts. Additionally, nearly half of the companies have formulated special systems for social responsibility work."

During the conference, representatives from nine major coal enterprises, including CHN Energy Investment Group and the China National Coal Group, shared their latest move on carrying out social responsibilities. (By Liu Yukun)
